Greenland Appaloosas
Greenland History
In 1977 my parents, Roger & Ora West purchased
the farm and started producing registered Polled
Hereford cattle.  The Appaloosa breeding program
was initiated in 1999 and took precedence when the
last of the cattle was sold in 2006.

"Greenland Stock Horses" is located in rural middle
Tennessee (Clay Co.), owned by myself, Kurt West.
Our operation is a small Appaloosa breeding farm
that specializes in producing colored athletic horses
with a superior disposition.  These horses excel in
any and all facets of the horse market.  Having
started in 1995 with the purchase of 2 Top Successor
bred mares, the herd at "Greenland Stock Horses"
today consist of 20 well bred individuals.

The young lady standing next to me is my fiancé,
Crystal Kolody.  She is a graduate of
Middle Tennessee State University
with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science
concentrating in Equine Science.  She has been
riding Hunter/Jumpers since the age of 7. Crystal
has fallen in love with the Appaloosa horse and has
made a large impact on our program bringing
in the English Disiplines.

"Greenland Stock Horses" name came from the Green family, my mother's maiden name who
has owned the property since 1909.  The farm was self sufficient for 3 generations from 1909
thru 1977 for the entire Green family.

I graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2004 with a
Bachelor Degree in Agriculture specializing in Equine Nutrition and Reproduction.  I served on the
Tennessee State Appaloosa Horse Club's Board of Directors from 2006 to present.

I have trained horses professionally since 1997 and have several success stories in the show ring
including 2 Top Ten World Champions, 1 World qualifier and numerous State Titles.  I am currently
training endurance horses from the bloodlines of the horses bred and raised on
